Commonwealth Caribbean Cyber Fellows (CCCF) Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the Commonwealth Caribbean Cyber Fellows in Trinidad, January 21-22, 2024, was a tremendous success. Fellows from across the region and Africa attended, providing support and direction in developing a framework for enhancing cyber resilience and reducing Cybercrime.

Mr Edward Millington, the Managing Director of CariSec Global, who is also a CCCF and the Co-Chair, delivered a thought-leadership presentation on Developing Operational Resilience: Strategies for Building Regional Resilience to the Commonwealth fellows, representatives of the Commonwealth Secretariat-General, The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC and the British High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago.

In his presentation. Mr Millington offered his leadership and thought-provoking insight by stating:

“The region can effectively create a robust Resilience Strategy by developing, supporting, and advising on the Caribbean’s Digital Operational Resilience framework program. This strategy will not only help manage emerging risks but also strengthen the region’s safety, political stability, economic growth, and social security. Adopting this proactive approach will protect and enhance digital trust, significantly reducing risks to Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), regional and international stakeholders, and citizens.

To guarantee the success of this initiative, the framework program must align with internationally recognised standards, frameworks, and best practices. Additionally, forming strategic alliances will empower the region to achieve long-term security and resilience against a challenging digital threat landscape.”

We look forward to his continuing Digital Cyber Security Humanitarian efforts in years to come!
